JOHN PAUL DRAYER CALLS TO RESTORE DECENCY AND BALANCE BUDGET IN BELLFLOWER UNIFIED
BELLFLOWER, CA — In response to the recent altercation involving members of the Bellflower School Board during the last board meeting, candidate John Paul Drayer released a statement addressing the incident and detailing his vision to restore leadership and trust in the district.
“I am deeply saddened and disappointed by the recent fight that took place at our last school board meeting,” said John Paul Drayer. “As leaders in our community, school board members must serve as positive role models for our students, staff, and families. Violence of any kind—whether physical or verbal—has absolutely no place in our schools, our boardrooms, or our community.”
Drayer emphasized that the primary duty of elected board members is to put students first and maintain a constructive, professional environment focused on educational excellence and fiscal responsibility.
“Our top priority must always be helping our students succeed,” Drayer continued. “When board meetings devolve into conflict, it distracts from the critical work we need to do. We must immediately return our focus to the core challenges facing our district, starting with balancing our budget and ensuring our schools have the resources needed to support every child’s education.”
If elected to the Bellflower School Board, Drayer pledges to work collaboratively with parents, educators, and community members to rebuild public trust and restore decorum and accountability to local governance.
“I am committed to rebuilding trust with our community through transparent, respectful, and student-centered leadership,” added Drayer. “Together, we can move past these disruptions and build a stronger, safer, and more supportive educational system for all Bellflower students.”
John Paul Drayer has deep roots in Bellflower. He was born and raised in Bellflower. He attended all Bellflower schools and graduated from Bellflower High School in 1980.
